Several users have reported that they are unable to send and /or receive text messages and iMessages on Mac. This article explains how you can troubleshoot this issue.
After tinkering in the Messages preferences on my Mac, I quickly realized that one of my iMessage email addresses for iMessage was there, but it wasn’t active, thus me not receiving messages sent to this address. To make sure you have activated all email addresses you want to use with iMessage, check out both your Mac and iPhone or iPad settings. Looks like text message forwarding was disabled on my iPhone. On your iPhone, go to Settings Messages Text Message Forwarding and make sure your Mac is an enabled device in this list. Restarting the Messages app on your Mac might be required for this fix to work.
Users report that when they attempt to send a message, they see a little red exclamation mark symbol next to my message, and they cannot resent it.
Using the Messages app on the Mac, you can easily send and/or receive SMS text messages (normal text messages) and iMessages (Apple’s messaging service).
If you are having this issue as well (not sending or not receiving), here is how you can fix it:
1- Force quit Messages app and then reopen it. To do this, choose Force Quit from the Apple menu () in the upper-left corner of your screen.And then select Messages and click Force Quit. The re-open the Messages app.
2- Restart your Mac. Simply click the Apple menu and select Restart.
3- Sign out and then sign back in. Open Messages, then select Messages and Preferences from the Menu bar. The click Sign out. Then open the Messages app and sign in with your Apple ID.
4- Open the Messages preferences window and select the Accounts tab (Messages > Preferences), select iMessage (left list), make sure that the checkbox “Enable this account” is checked, if not checked, check the box.
5- Make sure that your Mac is connected to the Internet. Try to load a web site to check your Internet connection. If you do not have an Internet connection, you may try some basic troubleshooting tips like restarting your Mac, Router, Wi-Fi spot etc.
6- Your problem may be because of your date and time settings. Lets resolve this. Click Apple menu > System Preferences > and then Date & Time; select the Time Zone tab and the “Set date and time automatically” checkbox, if it is already selected, unselect and wait a few seconds and reselect again. You may need to enter the admin password if the checkbox is dimmed.
7- On your Mac, Messages > Preferences > Accounts > iMessages Account; and on your iOS device, iPhone or iPad > Settings > Messages > Send and Receive the account should be same.
8- The issue may be because of Keychain problem. Here is how you can resolve this issue:
Launch Keychain Access (Launchpad > Keychain Access) then click File and Lock Keychain “Login” and then again go to File > Unlock Keychain “Login”, enter your admin password when you are asked. This will rebuild your Keychain Access which may fix this problem.

Several people are experiencing issues with Gmail (especially G Suite) email accounts in Mail on Mac. It seems that the Mail App is not working as expected for some Gmail users. More specifically, some Gmail users have said that after installing the macOS 10.14.4, and launching the Mail app, some Gmail users are asked to authenticate their email addresses. They get a notification saying:

However, shortly after authenticating, the Mail app asks for authentication once again, and again, as the process does not stick and goes into an endless loop.
Please note that we contacted Apple regarding this issue, and we were told that Apple is currently working on a fix.
In the meantime, you can try the following fixes:
1– Changing your Gmail account’s security settings may fix this problem. Open Google’s My Account site (https://myaccount.google.com) and click Security (On the left navigation panel) and then scroll down and find the “Less secure app access” section and turn this on (note that Google recommends this OFF).

2- Set up your email account using IMAP. Please note that this process will delete your messages and will no longer available on your Mac. But do not worry, your mails will not be removed from Google’s servers, you can still access your mails via gmail.com web site. Here is how:
Open the Mail App
Click Mail
Click Preferences
Click Accounts
Select your Gmail account
And click the (-) remove button
Now we will re-add your Gmail account
Before that, let us make sure that IMAP access is enable. If not, you can do that easily. To enable IMAP in Gmail, login into your Gmail web client (gmail.com) and then click Settings:
Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
Select Enable IMAP (IMAP access section)
And scroll down and click Save.
Now again in Mail App, choose Mail
Click Add Account
Select Google, then click Continue
Enter your email and click Next
Enter your password and click Next
And follow the instructions
If this does not work, try the “Add Other Account” option and add smpt/imap info manually:
Incoming server: imap.gmail.com
Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com
Electron bundle mac app. 3- Open Safari and go to https://accounts.google.com/b/0/DisplayUnlockCaptcha and then enter your username and password, then enter the letters (captcha) then try again.
